Alessandro Comai
Ph.D. candidate at ESADE

Engineering and an MBA from the University
of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona (Spain) and a DEA from
ESADE.
At the moment he is an associate professor of the University
of Pompeu Fabra, (Barcelona, Spain) and it was a visiting
professor at Tampere
University of Technology (Tampere, Finland) (2005)
were he researches and teaches business intelligence
(BI).
He has written over 40 articles and papers about CI
since 2001 and he is doing several researches in CI
focused on for instance (a) developing the World-class

(b) how to Mapping and Anticipating the Competitive
Landscape
He is co-author with Joaquín

a and co-author of the report Software
for Technological Patent Intelligence.
With Dr. John E. Prescott he has published the workbook
World-Class Competitive Intelligence Function.
Now he is working in a new book (editor) titled "Business
Early Warning", which will be available by Fall
2010.
Since 2002 he is the director and co-founder of the
Spanish competitive intelligence magazine PUZZLE
- Revista de Inteligencia Competitiva http://www.revista-puzzle.com).
He also has been an editorial member of theJournal
of Competitive Intelligence and Management (2003-2006).
SCIP member since 1999 (http://www.scip.org) he served
the association several years. He also is the co-founder
of the Spanish CI association (ASEPIC)
He also owns MINIERA (http://www.miniera.es)
a small consulting firm based in Barcelona specialized
in: research, consulting, trainings and CI software

E. Prescott

Dr. John E. Prescott is the Thomas
O'Brien Chair of Strategy and Director of the Doctoral
Program in the Katz
Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
John was a founder of SCIP, the 1991-1992
President, currently on the board of directors and a
Trustee of the CI Foundation. He is a fellow, the 1994
meritorious award winner, a finalist for the Fay Brill
Service Award and International Advisor of the Society
of Competitive Intelligence, China. John was the executive
editor of the Competitive
Intelligence Review for eight
years and currently the co-editor of the Journal
of Competitive Intelligence and Management.
John is the author and/or editor of four books, the
most recent being Competitive intelligence: A Guide
to Your Journey to Best-Practice Processes and over
80 articles.
Professor Prescott designed the first MBA course in
competitive intelligence and in 1986 was awarded the
Valley Forge Honor Certificate for Excellence in Economic
Education. In 1996 he designed and implemented the first
web-based CI course. Dr. Prescott's research focuses
on dynamic competitive rivalry, alliance networks, and
technology strategy. He is the CI content expert at
the American
Productivity and Quality Center (APQC). He was the
Dean of the Business Analyst Program at Texas Instruments.
