Alessandro Comai


Ph.D. candidate at ESADE business school (URL) he holds a BSc (Honor) in Engineering and an MBA from the University of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona (Spain) and a DEA from ESADE. At the moment he is an associate professor of the University of Pompeu Fabra, (Barcelona, Spain) and it was a visiting professor at Tampere University of Technology (Tampere, Finland) were he researches and teaches business intelligence (BI). He has written several article and paper about CI (see example) and he is doing several researches about competitive intelligence. He is co-author (with Joaquín Tena) of the books Mapping & Anticipating the Competitive Landscape and Inteligencia Competitiva y Vigilancia Tecnológica and co-author of the report Software for Technological Patent Intelligence. He is currently the director of the Spanish competitive intelligence magazine (PUZZLE - Revista de Inteligencia Competitiva) and he was an editorial member of the Journal of Competitive Intelligence and Management (2003-2006). He also running a consulting company (2IC) specialized in Competitive Intelligence.
   

 

 

John E. Prescott


Dr. John E. Prescott is the Thomas O'Brien Chair of Strategy and Director of the Doctoral Program in the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. John was a founder of SCIP, the 1991-1992 President, currently on the board of directors and a Trustee of the CI Foundation. He is a fellow, the 1994 meritorious award winner, a finalist for the Fay Brill Service Award and International Advisor of the Society of Competitive Intelligence, China. John was the executive editor of the Competitive Intelligence Review for eight years and currently the co-editor of the Journal of Competitive Intelligence and Management. John is the author and/or editor of four books, the most recent being Competitive intelligence: A Guide to Your Journey to Best-Practice Processes and over 80 articles. Professor Prescott designed the first MBA course in competitive intelligence and in 1986 was awarded the Valley Forge Honor Certificate for Excellence in Economic Education. In 1996 he designed and implemented the first web-based CI course. Dr. Prescott's research focuses on dynamic competitive rivalry, alliance networks, and technology strategy. He is the CI content expert at the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC). He was the Dean of the Business Analyst Program at Texas Instruments. Dr. Prescott consults internationally.
